2006 Oinktoberfest With a Jamaican Flair |

Saturday's competition was again a Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) sanctioned event and additionally was an official NY State Championship. Teams were judged and scored according to KCBS guidelines and rules. Food categories included: chicken, pork ribs, pork butt/shoulder, beef brisket. The scores of these four categories determined the Grand Champion. Additional categories were any side dish and dessert. Results are HERE. This year, Sunday's event was renamed the Backyarders' competition, reflecting the fact that everyone can be a bbqer, they just have to cook outdoors. All were invited to enter. Grilling, smoking, frying, baking, anything was acceptable. Categories included ribs, sausage, chicken wings, any side dish and dessert. Results will be available soon.
